Chubbys, one of Sheffield’s most popular late-night eating spots, will close its doors at the end of the month.
Chubbys Kebabs and Burgers, Cambridge Street
The Cambridge Street kebab and burger shop, popular for its cheesy chips, announced that it will be closing down on 31 August.
With the area set to be redeveloped in coming months, Chubbys has decided now is the time to make the move.

40 years of Chubbys on Cambridge Street
Chubbys has been a staple of the nighttime economy in the area for 40 years. Revellers from nearby pubs, clubs and leisure facilities often ended their night with a kebab or burger from the takeaway.
The restaurant’s location was perfectly located for clubbers coming out of Division Street venues, or after a show at Sheffield City Hall.
However, the move follows the closure of much of Cambridge Street’s businesses, in preparation for the next phase of the Heart of the City II city centre redevelopment.

Loss of a city centre staple
Over 600 people have taken to the comments of Chubbys announcement on Facebook, many stating they will miss their favourite menu items.
Popular offerings include Cheeseburgers, Chips and Cheese, ‘proper’ Lamb Kebabs and more.

New Chubbys location?
There is hope that the popular restaurant and takeaway will return at a new location in future.
Owners will update their Facebook page once a new venue has been found.
