Car charging points for private vehicles and taxis are to be installed across Sheffield this February.
22 new electric car charging points for Sheffield
Sheffield City Council have announced the installation of 22 new electric vehicle charging points.
12 of the new charging points are allocated for general use whilst the remaining 10 are reserved for taxis and private hire vehicles.
The new chargers, which can charge a vehicle to 80% in 45 minutes, will be installed at key points across the city by late February.
As part of the rollout obsolete electric charging points at Carver Lane and Parker Lane will also be replaced.

The new electric car charging point locations include:
General Use
- Prince of Wales Road (1 charging points)
- Blyde Road (Northern General Hospital) (1 charging point)
- Carver Lane (3 charging points)
- Parker’s Lane (1 charging point)
- Eldon Street (2 charging points)
- Clarence Lane (2 charging points)
Taxi Only Points
- Howard Lane (2 charging points)
- Pond Hill (1 charging point)
- Clarence Lane (2 charging points)
- Eldon Street (2 charging points)
- Prince of Wales Road (1 charging points)
- Parker’s Lane (1 charging point)
- Blyde Road (1 charging point)
Charging points at Eldon Street, Prince of Wales Road and Howard Street are extra large units to be easily accessible.
