Kelham Island Food Tours have launched a selection of new experience boxes, so you can try the area’s acclaimed food and drink offerings from home.

Kelham Island’s incredible assortment of independent food and drink offerings can now be sampled at home, thanks to a new ‘gift box’ service from one of the area’s local experts.

The at-home service is a new offering from Sophie Barber’s popular Kelham Island Food Tours, in lieu of being able to take you around the area’s acclaimed makers physically.

Each box comes loaded with goodies from the local producers, including Chocolate from Bullion, Sushi-making kits from Edo Sushi, Coffee from Frazers and much more.

Alongside the incredible goods, the boxes feature information cards about the items, delicious recipes and fact cards about the providers among other bonuses.

Launching just in time for Christmas, the boxes also make excellent gifts for the foodie in your life. All items provided are dried or cupboard stored, so are good for more than 2 months.

One box features a special cheesemaking kit inspired by visits to Sheffield Cheesemasters, with which you can create five different types of cheese from home by just adding milk!

Another box contains a V60 coffee-making kit with glass server and measuring scoop, to perfect your blend from Frazers Coffee Roasters.

Meanwhile, another had a selection of chocolate from local craft chocolatiers Bullion and you can even buy a seperate ice cream making kit produced with The Cheeky Little Kitchen.

The choice and quality on offer from the Kelham Island Food Tours kits is exceptional.

In more normal times, Sophie can be found offering ‘proper’ food tours in the Kelham Island area.

Set up in 2019, Kelham Island Food Tours grew from a single tour per week to several before the pandemic hit and lockdown took it’s toll.

The tours visit numerous Neepsend and Kelham Island producers, makers, bakeries, restaurants and more — giving a real taste of independent Sheffield.

Even seasoned Kelham Islanders experience new places and hidden gems on each tour, so when they are back up and running do give it a go!
